Setara is directed by Kabir Khan and it is a real-life story of a 15-year-old Afghan girl, who rebuilds her life in Melbourne after fleeing the Taliban. The lead actress Setara Amiri plays herself in the film where she can be seen showing her own bitter and sweet experiences.

Nandini is a short film by Onir, that revolves around the story of Indraneel, a queer Indian man, who reunites with his estranged father in Melbourne to complete a ceremonial ritual.

Belonging to an untouchable community himself, Bhise withstood turbulent waters throughout his life. On one hand, he got inspiration from his family members who were closely connected to the Dalit Panthers movement that during the late 1960s-70s mobilised Dalits across western and northern India against the relentless social, economic, and political oppression; on the other, his own early day career as a courier person made him realise the struggles of carrying the burden through an unending path.

‘If only’ is a scrubbing of elbows and knees and secret places that sting, and a bathroom exploding citrus, and skin rubbed raw and bruised but it does not matter. Is it gone? That is the important thing. The only thing is it gone?

My Melbourne was screened at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2024 and Kolkata International Film Festival 2024. It also had its world premiere at the 15th Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.jqkbet
